    Membership Benefits

Connecticut United for Research Excellence (CURE) works on behalf of members to build networks and critical mass for Connecticut’s bioscience industry.  At the same time we are dedicated to helping our member companies succeed in the high-risk, difficult world of establishing, growing and supporting a bioscience business.  With that in mind, here are the benefits that you will automatically receive when you become a member of CURE:

Representation at the Federal, state and municipal levels.

CURE’s greatest strength is in the area of education and advocacy.  As a result of our efforts in Hartford and with municipal governments we have achieved significant, tangible results that have saved our members hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes and other fees that directly impact the bottom line. We have successfully worked for important initiatives such as the R&D tax credit and Connecticut’s $100 million Stem Cell Research Fund. We have also educated legislators and others on the impact of legislation that could damage industry growth in the state or have an negative effective on innovation and research.
Locally we represent member companies when specific tax, transportation and other issues come up with municipalities.

Nationally, CURE is the officially designated state affiliate to the Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington DC.  Through this relationship, CURE has a voice in federal policy that will shape the future of the bioscience industry. CURE leads the Connecticut industry delegation at the annual BIO Fly In, a program that brings over 1,000 leaders of the national biotech industry to Washington to lobby congress.

    Increased Visibility.

Joining CURE puts your company on the bioscience map in Connecticut. We can arrange for appropriate introductions between scientist-entrepreneurs/ companies/ financers/ and business development professionals in our organization.

Our networking events provide the opportunity to meet others in the bioscience community.

Opportunities frequently emerge to present at meetings and conferences both locally and nationally.

Members are entitled to use CURE News (our monthly newsletter that reaches 2,000+ readers in Connecticut and the region) to:
